About Vertical Healing

Vertical Healing Tower Farm is a social enterprise tower-based vertical aeroponics farm focused on producing high quality and sustainable produce addressing food insecurities and food deserts in the Triangle area of North Carolina and beyond.Our system uses 90% less water and 90% less land than traditional farming methods, without sacrificing product yield.

Food Insecurity

Food insecurity means not having reliable access to enough affordable, nutritious food. It goes beyond hunger. It includes skipping meals, eating low quality foods, or not knowing where your next meal is coming from. This can affect anyone, from children and working families to seniors and veterans.

Why North Carolina?

North Carolina has one of the highest rates of food insecurities in the U.S. and consistently ranks among the top 10 states. Key factors include: high poverty rates and stagnant wages; food deserts in both rural and urban communities; rising food and housing cost; and systemic insecurities in accessing healthy food.1.5 million people in North Carolina, including nearly 450,000 children, live with hunger or food insecurity.In Wake and Durham counties alone 1 in 10 residents are food insecure contributing to the 600,000 being served by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC.

Our Mission

Our mission is to grow nutrient-rich, environmentally sustainable, high-yield produce while addressing food insecurity in the Research Triangle Park area and beyond using tower-based vertical aeroponics.

Our Model

We are committed to donating 10% of all produce to local nonprofits and hunger relief organizations, with a goal to increase that to 25% within 3 years. We will partner with nonprofits to expand food access and health equality. We are focused on building a scalable, sustainable system that strengthens local food resilience and community health.Vertical tower farming uses 90% less water and 90% less land than traditional farming with zero pesticides and same or greater yield per square foot.
